Witnr is a private weight-tracking app built around trust. Instead of posting to a public feed or competing on a leaderboard, you share your progress only with the specific people you choose — a partner, a gym buddy, or a small group of friends.

The core idea: accountability works best when it comes from people who already care about you, not from strangers or algorithms.

Witnr is for adults (18+) who want to track their weight with the support of people they trust. Common use cases:

• Partners and couples — share progress with a significant other, sibling, or close family member
• Gym buddies — stay accountable with a workout partner or coworker
• Small groups — 3 to 10 friends doing a health journey together

Witnr is not a fitness social network. There are no public profiles, no discovery features, and no leaderboards.

Yes. The core features of Witnr are free:

• Logging daily weigh-ins
• Sharing with one circle
• Viewing recent history
• Apple Health and Health Connect sync (read)

Witnr Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks photos on weigh-ins, unlimited history, and unlimited circles. See the Subscriptions section for details.

Weight tracking can be a sensitive activity, and we want to make sure the experience is appropriate for adult users. We also include an eating disorder recovery self-exclusion screen during sign-up, and we felt it was important to implement these safeguards for a 18+ audience specifically rather than build a scaled-down version for younger users.

During sign-up, we ask whether you are currently in recovery from an eating disorder. If you indicate that you are, we encourage you not to use Witnr and provide links to relevant support resources.

We don't block you — you're an adult, and that decision is yours. But we want to make sure the option to step away is visible and easy at the very start.

Only the members of your active circles. No one else — not Witnr employees, not other users, not the public.

If you dissolve a circle or leave a group, the other members immediately lose access to your data. We don't keep a shared view alive after the relationship ends.

No. Witnr does not sell, rent, or broker your personal data to third parties. We don't use your health information for advertising.

We use a small number of third-party services (cloud infrastructure, analytics, push notifications) to operate the app. These services process data only on our behalf and under strict data processing agreements. See our Privacy Policy for the complete list.

Witnr blocks screenshots of any screen that displays weigh-in photos shared by another user. On iOS, the system prevents screenshots and screen recordings from capturing those views. On Android, the FLAG_SECURE window flag is set on those screens.

This protection applies to photos shared by others. You can screenshot your own data — we don't block that. But we want to make sure that photos someone shares in a vulnerable moment can't be trivially captured and shared outside the app without their knowledge.

Only if you explicitly grant permission. If you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, Witnr can read your most recent weight measurement to pre-fill the weigh-in screen — that's it. We don't read any other health categories, and we never write to Apple Health or Health Connect.

You can revoke this permission at any time from iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, or from Android Settings → Health Connect → App permissions.

You can delete your account directly in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes all your weigh-in data, your profile, and removes you from all circles.

To request a data export, email privacy@witnr.io. We'll respond within 30 days.

A circle is a private sharing group. There are three types:

• Partner — Two people, fully shared. Designed for couples, close family, or anyone with a warmth-first accountability dynamic.
• Gym Buddy — Two people, motivation-first. A lighter-touch connection for workout partners or coworkers.
• Group — 3 to 10 people. For small crews doing a health journey together. No leaderboards, just check-ins and milestones.

Free accounts can be in one circle at a time. Witnr Pro allows unlimited circles.

Go to Connections → Create circle, choose your circle type, and generate an invite link. Share the link however you'd like — text, email, or any messaging app. The link is valid for 72 hours and can only be used once.

The person you invite doesn't need to have Witnr installed yet. The link will prompt them to download the app and walk them through joining your circle during sign-up.

When you leave a circle or dissolve a partnership, the other members are notified that the circle has ended — they'll see a message that the connection was dissolved. We don't send them your reason or any other detail.

Your data is removed from their view immediately when you leave. They retain their own weigh-in history, but can no longer see yours.

No, and by design. Witnr never ranks users by weight lost or any other outcome metric. We don't calculate ideal weights, BMI targets, or competitive standings.

What we do celebrate is consistency — the act of logging, of showing up. That's the only thing Witnr tracks competitively.

You can change your preferred unit at any time in Profile → Preferences → Units. Witnr stores all weights internally in kilograms and converts for display, so switching units recalculates your full history correctly — you won't lose any data.

Each user in a circle can independently choose their preferred unit. You'll each see weights in your own preferred unit.

Witnr Pro unlocks:

• Photos on weigh-ins — attach a photo to any check-in (protected by screenshot blocking for other members)
• Unlimited history — free accounts see up to 90 days of history; Pro shows your complete history with full trend charts
• Unlimited circles — free accounts are limited to one active circle; Pro removes this limit

Pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Subscribing through the App Store or Google Play means the subscription is managed by Apple or Google respectively — check the app for current pricing in your region.

Subscriptions are managed by the platform you subscribed through:

• iOS (App Store): Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → Witnr Pro → Cancel
• Android (Google Play): Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Witnr → Cancel

Canceling stops future charges. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods, but Apple and Google have their own refund policies you can appeal to.

Your data is never deleted when you downgrade. Weigh-in history beyond 90 days becomes inaccessible in the free tier, but it's still stored. If you resubscribe to Pro, your full history reappears immediately.

If you had more than one active circle, you'll be asked to choose which one to keep. Others are paused (not deleted) — the other members are notified, and you can reactivate them if you resubscribe.

Go to Profile → Account → Email address. Enter your new email address and confirm it. We'll send a verification email to the new address — click the link to confirm the change. Until you confirm, your old email remains active.

On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. We'll send a reset link. The link is valid for 30 minutes.

If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder. If it's still not there, contact support and we can help.

Yes. Sign in with your Witnr account on any supported iOS or Android device. Your data syncs automatically. There's no limit on the number of devices linked to one account.

Go to Profile → Account → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm. Once confirmed:

• All your weigh-in data is permanently deleted
• Your profile is removed
• You are removed from all circles immediately
• Any active Pro subscription is canceled (no further charges)

This action cannot be undone. If you're having a problem with the app, consider visiting support first — there may be a simpler fix.
