Account and sign-in

I can't log in — what should I try first?
  1. Make sure you're using the email address you signed up with. Check for typos.
  2. Try resetting your password: tap Forgot password? on the login screen.
  3. If you haven't verified your email address yet, check your inbox (and spam folder) for a verification email from noreply@witnr.io.
  4. Force-close and reopen the app.
  5. Check your internet connection.

If none of these work, email support@witnr.io with the email address you used to sign up.

I didn't receive my verification email.
  1. Check your spam or junk folder. Our emails come from noreply@witnr.io.
  2. Wait a few minutes — email delivery can be delayed.
  3. In the app, tap Resend verification email on the verification screen.
  4. If you entered your email incorrectly during sign-up, delete your account and sign up again with the correct address. (You can't change the sign-up email before verifying.)
How do I change my display name or profile photo?

Go to Profile → Edit profile. You can update your display name and avatar photo from there. Changes are visible to your circle members immediately.

How do I change my email address?

Go to Profile → Account → Email address. Enter your new address and tap Save. We'll send a verification email to the new address. Your email won't change until you click the confirmation link.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Account → Delete account and follow the prompts. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your weigh-in data, profile, and circle memberships are removed. Any active Pro subscription is also canceled.

If you're having a problem the app, please consider contacting support first. There may be a simpler fix.

Subscriptions and billing

How do I cancel my Witnr Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the platform you bought through — Witnr itself cannot cancel your subscription.

  • iOS (App Store): Open Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → find Witnr Pro → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android (Google Play): Open Play Store → tap your profile photo → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Witnr → Cancel subscription.

Canceling stops future charges. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.

I was charged but the app still shows a free account.
  1. Force-close and reopen the app — the subscription status sometimes takes a moment to sync.
  2. Go to Profile → Account → Restore purchases and tap Restore. This re-syncs your purchase record from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, email support@witnr.io with your account email and a screenshot or order number of the charge.

I want a refund.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your Witnr subscription.

Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google. Visit the Google Play subscriptions page and request a refund from there.

Witnr cannot issue refunds directly — all billing goes through Apple or Google. If you're having trouble with either platform's refund process, contact us and we'll try to help.

Circles and connections

My invite link isn't working.
  1. Check that the link hasn't expired — invite links are valid for 72 hours and can only be used once.
  2. If it expired or was already used, go to Connections and generate a new invite.
  3. Make sure the person you're inviting taps the link on their phone (not on a desktop browser).
  4. If they already have Witnr installed and the link still doesn't open the app, they can try long-pressing the link and choosing "Open in Witnr."
A circle member isn't seeing my weigh-ins.
  1. Make sure you and the other person are both in the same circle (check under Connections).
  2. Ask them to pull-to-refresh on the dashboard.
  3. Weigh-ins logged before the circle was created are not shared retroactively — only weigh-ins after joining are visible.
  4. Check that neither of you has left and rejoined the circle — rejoining starts fresh.
How do I leave or dissolve a circle?

Go to Connections, tap the circle, then tap Leave circle (for groups) or Dissolve partnership (for Partner/Gym Buddy). You'll be asked to confirm.

Once you leave, the other members are notified that the circle has ended. They lose access to your data immediately. This action cannot be undone — if you want to reconnect later, you'll need to create a new circle.

Can I be in multiple circles?

Free accounts are limited to one active circle at a time. Witnr Pro removes this limit and allows unlimited active circles simultaneously.

Health app integration

How do I connect Apple Health?

Go to Profile → Health sync → Apple Health and tap Connect. iOS will ask you to grant permission to read Body Weight data. Approve it.

Once connected, your most recent Apple Health weight reading will appear pre-filled when you open the weigh-in screen.

How do I connect Google Health Connect?

Go to Profile → Health sync → Health Connect and tap Connect. If Health Connect isn't installed, you'll be directed to install it from the Play Store first. Once installed, grant Witnr permission to read Weight data.

My Apple Health weight isn't showing up in Witnr.
  1. Check that Witnr has permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Witnr → confirm Body Weight is enabled for Read.
  2. Make sure there's a recent weight entry in Apple Health (within the last 7 days).
  3. Force-close Witnr and reopen it.
  4. Disconnect and reconnect Apple Health from Profile → Health sync.
Does Witnr write data back to Apple Health or Health Connect?

No. Witnr only reads your most recent weight to pre-fill the weigh-in screen. We never write data back to Apple Health or Health Connect, and we don't request write permissions.

How do I disconnect the health integration?

Go to Profile → Health sync and tap Disconnect next to the connected service. You can also revoke access directly from your device:

  • Apple Health: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Witnr → toggle off.
  • Health Connect: Android Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Witnr → remove permissions.

App performance

The app is slow or crashing.
  1. Force-close the app and reopen it.
  2. Make sure you're running the latest version. Check the App Store or Google Play for updates.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Check your internet connection — a poor connection can make the app feel slow.
  5. If crashes happen consistently in a specific place, note the exact steps and email support@witnr.io with the details and your device model and OS version.
I'm not receiving push notifications.
  1. Check that Witnr has notification permission: iOS Settings → Witnr → Notifications → Allow Notifications. Android: Settings → Apps → Witnr → Notifications → turn on.
  2. Make sure Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't blocking Witnr.
  3. Check your notification preferences inside Witnr: Profile → Notifications.
  4. Sign out and sign back in to re-register your device's push token.
How do I report a bug?

Email support@witnr.io with:

  • Your device model and operating system version
  • The Witnr app version (found at Profile → About)
  • A description of what happened and the steps to reproduce it
  • A screenshot if relevant

We track and fix bugs in every release. Your reports genuinely help.
